The Wonderful World of Engagement Rings

The wonderful world of fine jewelry has its ups and downs. When purchasing such an expensive and meaningful piece for a loved one, you may become quite stressed. When it comes to an engagement ring, your woman can be very picky. The last thing you want to do is buy the wrong type of ring sending your lover into a fit of rage. Worry not, my friend! I will aid you in picking the perfect engagement ring to symbolize your love.

First and foremost you must communicate with your significant other. If you are walking through the mall picking out a birthday gift for your lovely future mother-in-law, you might consider being a little sneaky. Tactfully guide her in the direction of the nearest jewelry store. Trust me, she will not resist! You can say something along the lines of, "I saw this watch on television that I really liked. I think this store might have it." Unbeknownst to her, you will actually be paying attention to everything she says and looks at or tries.

Upon entry to the jewelry store, she will immediately be drawn to the largest diamond ring in the store. Sorry guys, but it is an innate desire. When she is marveling at the twenty-five thousand dollar ring, you should offer your opinion and ask questions. Try to figure out if she likes gold or silver in color. Once you have that pinpointed, figure out what cut of stone she prefers. By cut, I mean shape. There are some pretty interesting options out there regarding the shape of a diamond.

Whether it is round, princess, emerald or pear, the shape she prefers is probably the biggest deciding factor in purchasing a ring. It is the very first thing everyone will notice when looking at the ring. In my personal opinion, I do not care as much about the quality of the diamond. It does not need to be flawless or anywhere close. My reason for this opinion is because no one walking down the street is going to ask you about the clarity of your ring. They are going to take it at face value and compliment it or say nothing at all.

Either way you look at it, diamonds are a symbol of status. The more wealthy you are, the bigger diamonds you or your woman sport. It is nice when someone compliments random strangers on the beautiful engagement rings they are wearing. Even if it isn't worth a million dollars, the way she cherishes her ring every time she looks at it is priceless.
